quick fixes.

Hello!
Here I am again. People had started to ask why did I disappear and no more blog posts were coming.
Any guesses?!

FINALS, Internship, & Work. :( Yep. Thursday was last day of classes for me. Next week I have a couple finals. All scheduled. How lucky am I? *sigh* One of them it's at 7am and it's timed - only because my professor FORGOT TO SCHEDULE the test at the Testing Center. I have no clue what my professor was/ IS thinking. I only know I'm pretty frustrated and want this to be over ASAP.

Anyway. Now you know what I've been up to! :)

Flash cards and more flash cards. And bad hair days. Which lead to this:

Which really was an inspiration from  my guuurl Rita Ora who is always sporting a beanie, and David Beckham. Maybe this is a London type of trend. Whatever it is, it's hiding my messy, crappy looking hair.

Did you know she's ALBANIAN?! PURE Albanian blood- that's right! Here's one of her songs.

A precious, good, attractive, very stylish soccer player who I ADMIRE very much.

iLIFT

Hey there!

Today I wanted to write about my new addition to my workouts.
Typically I stick to running, add some soccer here and there and that's about it. Simple and fun.

Well my amazing boyfriend insisted we get a gym membership for me so we could go there together,
and I could run inside- especially now that started snowing like CRAZY and it's icy and freezing and
impossible to go running outside. So we did! Yaay for gyms, and working out, and staying fit even when the weather doesn't favor us. Take that snow! ;)

So the past two weeks I've been alternating cardio (my one and only form of exercise for a while), with weight lifting! I've been meaning to try weight lifting for forever now, but since I didn't have a gym pass it just ended up being on my work out bucket list.

Yeah, I know. I have a work out bucket list… Is that weird?
Now I'm wondering if other people have work out bucket lists… Or I'm just weird. Ahh. I'd appreciate an
input here from you that read this anddd love working out (you know who you are! So do it! ;)

Since my boyfriend loves lifting and it's been into that for years now, he decided he was going to teach me how to lift properly. That way I don't hurt myself and get the most out of my work outs. You guys have no
idea how great it is to have someone like him teach me all this stuff! And who would know this stuff
better than my health coach cutie whom I love so much? No one. :)

I have pre-planned workouts for each day of the week that include cardio and lifting.
Planning your workouts before going to the gym is the best thing you could do. That way when you hit the gym you aren't wasting time thinking of what you should work out, which exercises should you do, or even waste time and get distracted by the ones that are in great shape and are doing their own pre- planned work outs. Here's some advice for you guys:

a) If you are over weight, and need to loose some fat you should start with some cardio (going on a walk, run, bike ride, or any activity that will increase your heart rate), and gradually cut off the junk food, and switch to healthy options.Stay tuned because I will be posting more health advice in the next few blog posts. Today in our society being overweight is seen more of a "looks" problem than a health problem. Which gives out the WRONG message to the population.  I'd like to mention and try and increase the awareness that being over weight can harm your health not your looks! If you are overweight the chances are that you have  fat surrounding your internal organs, and not letting them work properly. This increases the chances for diabetes and heart diseases. Main point is that you should take your health seriously: exercise regularly, and form healthy eating habits so you prevent health problems and live long. And if you've already started making these changes good job! Keep it up! I know it's hard, but it gets easier if you stick with the healthy habits.

b) If you are normal weight I suggest you add in some weight lifting to your work out routine. To girls: That will NOT make you bulky looking, unless you use hormones. If you see that you're a certain muscle group i.e. legs are getting bigger than your ideal look (which doesn't happen often) then you decrease the weight you are using on exercises for legs and that will help.
But lifting will tone your body, and give you amazing results!! I'm telling you I see a difference in my arms and overall body from lifting: everything is toning up and I LOVE it!

c) If you're in great shape, well keep it up! Watch your nutrition. I'd love some feedback from you guys on what's working for you, so I try i out and compare to my work out routine.

Anyway, soooo you guys. This lifting thing is amazing! I'm loving it each day more- I have exercises I hate with all my heart. Don’t get me wrong. I mean…Who likes exercises they're struggling with and making them feel weak, even though they're actually making you STRONGER? Well, I certainly don't.

But this whole experience it's great. My arms now are stronger and are toning up, where's before they were just skinny arms. My legs are looking pretty good too, but my abs are looking pretty freaking amazing! :D
However this is the only negative thing I've experienced from lifting:

This October was so wonderful!

It consisted of:
1.     Gorgeous trees all around, crunching ALL the leaves (wink, wink for all the leaf maniacs out there haha), and the realization that Fall may be one of my absolutely favorite seasons.
View from my study room in the Library.
2. Getting a new (AWESOME) phone!!  This consisted of lost phone numbers- if you haven’t messaged me do it now so I save your number.
Gem found on my phone's memory.
3. Learning more about breast cancer. Here’s a linkYou should check it out. Don’t neglect it. It’s part of learning how to stay healthy.

4.  Hiking the top of Y mountain with Auston (this was his very first time hiking it) and watching the sunset.

5. Checking out Sandy’s DI and Nordstrom’s Rack.  I was disappointed in both of them because DI was even worse than the one in Provo (so I don’t know why the rumor is there are good and designer stuff there), and N.R. was very expensive. However we ran unto an old friend while we were there.

We invited him to get Chinese with us at Pei Wei, but he was busy studying relativity (still!)

6.   Date night at Spanish Fork Far Grounds. Auston got us tickets from his old work and we went to a Dirt Bike race, had free J-dawgs (yuuum!), took a ride at the Ferris Wheel, got some free gifts, and walked on crunchy leaves holding hands and being cute. Such a fun night!

7.Going to my friend Isabel’s wedding reception (which was super fun btw), running unto old roommates and friends as well as having people sneak on us with cameras.

Just kidding :) haha My friend/ old roommate Sierra actually took this one as we were walking/ getting ready to pose for a picture.

8. A girl's night/ Halloween party with one of my best friends. My married friend Che and I had had planned on this about a month in advance since we both needed some girl time together. Our men had men nights with their buddies and we had our own together.

She went as Barbie, and I went as a Flamenco dancer.
I also ran unto some old friends such as Katy Perry, Obama, Power Rangers etc.

9. Food prep nights and... carving BELL PEPPERS.

On the left there's fish in foil with asparagus and lemon, stuffed bell peppers, snacks, and meat muffins.

Picture on the right is self explanatory ;)

10. Last Halloween party with Auston, Lauren H. (she came in town from Georgia to visit everybody here!!), and a couple other fun friends.

Caity Pie.

With Meredith. Oh and that creepy person behind. Who can guess who they are?! :)

Oh. Yeah. And that's just us looking good :) Flamenco dancers!

It’s all about yogurt, feta and honey.

Hey you guys!

For a while now I've been wanting to create a blog and have fun with it, but every time I told myself “ OK, today is the day to create it”, it scared me. I don’t know if it just me or all other bloggers out there have had the same experience. I mean you get so excited because you have so many ideas and things you want to write about, then when you get to the keyboard your mind just goes blank, no ideas-nothing, plus you freak out.
Maybe it’s because I’m kind of a perfectionist at some stuff (cleaning, clothes, nails, cooking, and really everything that requires a lot of thinking, anddd blogging recently- I guess.)

Well, you’re probably asking yourself what’s different today.

We just entered November (Albania turns 100 years old this month! Woohoo for freedom!) and for some reason that and how much fun I had during October as well as the goals I set last month pushed me to finally write this first post.
In this blog I will be writing about yogurt (Greek, Plain), feta cheese and honey. My absolutely favorite things to eat. Yep. That’s right.

OKAY, I am juuust kidding! Haha.

Even though I love yogurt, feta and honey this will be just a personal blog (private), and will be updated every two weeks at least. I’m hoping to write about life adventures, healthy recipes, anything that has to do with nails and how to make them look pretty, fitness goals, school and job goals, thrifting and how to stay healthy/ how do I stay healthy.

I have another project in mind that has to do with blogging/ fashion, but until it’s on paper I can’t tell you guys much about it.

For today that’s it J Stay tuned- October updates blog entry this weekend!
Please feel free to make any Questions/ Suggestions ;)
